Step 1

Client contact

We assess the client’s needs and the environment in which their scan will be conducted. This allows us to measure the precision details required and expected in the deliverable. During this step, sending the CAD part plans and/or photos helps better define the project and determine a more accurate scan time assessment, and as a result, a more accurate estimate.

Step 2

Quote

At this step of the process, in order to provide a personalized quote, we respond to the client’s needs previously expressed during the first meeting.

Step 3

Scan

Once the quote is accepted by the client, we put our expertise to work: the scan!

Step 4

Reconstruction

This step is the technique that helps obtain a three-dimensional representation of an object from the scanned part. Reconstruction involves rebuilding the type shell in a readable format using CAD (computer-aided design) software.

Step 5

Analysis / Conclusion

For reverse engineering: We ensure the quality of the 3D reconstruction so the client can use it in creating their 2D drawing or in continuing their design process. For metrology: We analyze the scanned part and compare it with the theoretical 3D version (if available) or with the part’s 2D drawing.

Step 6

Delivery

For reverse engineering:We provide a 3D model that can be used with any CAD software. At the client’s request, we can also provide a dimensional. For metrology: We provide an inspection report for the part.
